Arosa Bärenland is located in Arosa in the canton of Graubünden and offers bears formerly kept in captivity, for example in circuses, a species-appropriate home for the final years of their lives. Visitors learn more about the often sad past of the animals and the conditions in which bears used to be kept. In winter, until 11 April, the site is open on Tuesday afternoons. During hibernation, the bears can sometimes not be observed live on site, but only via a live cam. Part of the admission fees goes towards the protection of bears, in order to promote species-appropriate husbandry in the future as well.
