Bern railway station, track 9/10 (sector N)

Bern railway station is home to Switzerland's longest platform, measuring 800 metres, known as track 9/10 and, in its extension, as track 49/50. The additional sector N was added over 385 metres, which lengthens the transfer time from 6 to 12 minutes. This extension is intended to prevent the timetable from being thinned out. When changing trains, travellers can choose whether to continue below on the platform or above via the footbridge.
