Bivio

A total of seven different languages and dialects are spoken in Bivio, including standard German, Grisons German, Italian, Bargaiot (an Italian dialect from the Bregaglia valley) as well as the Romansh idioms Surmiran, Puter and Bivio Romansh. In the past, three languages were even taught simultaneously at the school in Bivio. The village is thus regarded as an example of Switzerland's linguistic diversity.
