In Bosco Gurin people speak Gurinerdeutsch, a variety of Walser German (Valais German) that occurs nowhere else in Switzerland. The village lies at about 1500 m above sea level, making it the highest in the canton of Ticino. It is also home to the smallest village shop in Switzerland. The peaceful village, close to nature, is occasionally crossed by wild animals such as deer.
