The CabriO cable car up to the Stanserhorn is a genuine world first and ranks among Switzerland's most spectacular mountain railways. What makes it special: it is the world's first aerial cableway with an open upper deck. During the ride you stand under the open sky, feel the wind on your face and enjoy an unobstructed view of the mountains and Lake Lucerne.
The journey there is an experience in itself. First comes a ride on the historic funicular from 1893 from Stans to Kälti. Then you change to the modern CabriO cable car, which takes you up to almost 1,900 metres above sea level in just a few minutes. The combination of nostalgic technology and modern innovation makes the trip unique.
At the top, one of the finest panoramas in Central Switzerland awaits. In clear weather, up to ten Swiss lakes and more than 100 kilometres of Alpine chain are visible. A revolving restaurant, hiking trails, marmots and the popular Stanserhorn rangers also invite exploration. The sunset rides on summer evenings are particularly impressive.
