Until 2018, Corippo was the smallest municipality in Switzerland, with just 9 inhabitants and a correspondingly low population density. The entire village can be crossed in around 40 seconds. Abandoned rustici (traditional stone houses) have been turned into hotel rooms that together form the albergo diffuso. Room number 9 has a bed, a balcony and its own bathroom. All around the village it is quiet; usually only the river and the occasional cowbell can be heard.
