The Ebenalp is reached by a cable car that covers a difference in altitude of 723 metres and leads up to 1590 metres above sea level. From the mountain station, a walk of about 20 minutes leads to the bear cave in the Wildkirchli, where soot marks left on the ceiling by the torches of the first visitors in the 18th century can still be seen. The path continues through the rock to the Gasthaus Aescher, a restaurant built directly against a large rock face. The landscape appears in sunshine and in an autumnal mood.
