In search of prehistoric treasures
The Siblingerhöhe near Schaffhausen is considered an exciting spot for fossil enthusiasts and amateur geologists. In the rock layers of the region, with a bit of luck, one can find petrified shells, snails and other marine organisms from the time when a tropical sea covered this area. Especially after rainfall or at fresh break-off edges, fossils millions of years old become visible. The Siblingerhöhe combines nature, geology and adventure and is a popular destination for small discovery tours in north-eastern Switzerland.
