Fürstenau is a village of around 350 inhabitants that officially calls itself the smallest town in the world. A bishop once had his summer residence here, and the town status was based on the right to a dungeon, stocks and gallows. The inner part of the town has its own town wall as well as two castles, and a walk through the old town takes only about five minutes. Only five people live in the village all year round. Fürstenau is also known as the home of top chef Andreas Caminada, who owns his own restaurants and a castle here.
