The Funiculaire Fribourg is one of the last wastewater-powered funiculars in Europe. It is driven by wastewater, which is fed as ballast into the car travelling downhill, creating enough weight to pull the other car up. The system works entirely without electricity. After the journey, the water is returned into Fribourg's sewer system. The car has a wood-look interior.
