Track 0, Aarau railway station

At Aarau railway station, right on the outside next to the Migros, lies the only permanent track in Switzerland bearing the number 0. It is signposted from everywhere in the station by signs and a lift. Unlike the other tracks, there is no division into sectors here. Originally the track was to be given the number 10, but because of possible confusion with a track on the other side it was designated track 0 instead. Other Swiss stations sometimes have a track 0 temporarily during conversion works, but the SBB does not plan for one systematically from the outset.
