Free skiing on the Rigi

The Rigi offers winter sports enthusiasts a special attraction: holders of a valid SBB GA travelcard can use the railways up the Rigi free of charge. In addition, the ski lifts in the Rigi Staffel and Rigi Scheidegg/Burggeist areas are included at no extra cost. As a result, GA holders incur no additional costs for a ski pass. The Rigi has around 20 kilometres of groomed slopes and is particularly suitable for families, leisurely skiers and beginners. It is important to note, however, that this offer is not free for all visitors, but only for people with a valid GA travelcard or another recognised ticket. Without a corresponding travelcard, the regular tickets for the mountain railways must be purchased.
