Grimmiwasser

The Grimmiwasser is regarded as the 'bloody river' of the Diemtigtal and stands out for its intense red colour, caused by the high iron content of the spring water. The site is reached via the Grimmi-Erlebnisweg (Grimmi adventure trail), which starts at a car park at the Grimmialp. The hike takes about one and a half hours and involves around 600 metres of ascent; there are places to stop for refreshments along the way. The Grimmialp can be reached either by train and bus from Spiez station or by car along a scenic route.
