Grimselwelt Underground Tour

The underground tour of the Grimselwelt leads visitors, wearing high-visibility vests, through tunnels deep into the mountain. The visitor centre shows the work that was needed to supply electricity to one million people. The funicular takes visitors to the huge dam of the Grimselsee, after which a tunnel about one kilometre long leads to Punkt 2000. From there the journey continues to the Grimsel 2 power station, the largest power plant of the KWO, which is fed by two of the eight reservoirs of the Grimselwelt. The facility is part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
