The Stone Village: Indemini

The small village belongs to the municipality of Gambarogno and has 43 inhabitants. It is reached via a 15-kilometre pass road with 37 hairpin bends and 254 further curves, starting from Fosano. A bus runs along the pass road to Indemini only three times a day. Right next to the village there is a customs house at the Italian border. The village has a grocery shop and a petrol station, said to be the most remote in all of Switzerland, as well as narrow, historic-looking alleyways.
