The small cable cars Fell–Spis–Sinsgäu are among the most unusual cable car adventures in Switzerland. Instead of modern gondolas, you board nostalgic «Buiräbähnli» here, originally built for mountain farmers. The highlight is the historic Spis–Sinsgäu cable car with its open «Niederberger-Schiffli» cabin. During the ride you float practically under the open sky above steep meadows and rock faces up to the Sinsgäu alp at over 1,600 metres above sea level. To this day the cable car is still partly operated by hand and conveys an authentic mountain experience from another era. Since 2023, the small cable cars of Central Switzerland have officially been part of Switzerland's living traditions.
