La Sagne lies on a railway line and has a station with two tracks, served by a small train with just a single carriage. The village has a school, the football club FC La Sagne and its own ski club with a small ski area offering half a kilometre of pistes. Turned 90 degrees, the municipal coat of arms resembles stacked layers of lasagne. The place name regularly causes amusement, as it recalls the Italian dish lasagne.
