The Psychiatry Museum in Bern shows how patients lived in former lunatic asylums and what experiments were carried out on them. On display are straitjackets, a restraint chair with an integrated toilet bowl from the former Waldau institution and a Psychotron measuring instrument for recording brain waves, among other things. Also on show are medications that were tested, weapons made by the patients themselves and sections of real brains of former patients. The museum is considered one of the most bizarre in Switzerland and is open from Wednesday to Friday; admission costs 10 francs.
