Schlangenzoo Extertal

The snake zoo is home to around 150 snakes spread across 86 terrariums, including diamondback rattlesnakes, Pakistani cobras, rainbow boas, four-lined snakes, carpet pythons and boa constrictors. Venomous species are marked with a red dot. In addition to the exhibition, the facility also serves as a rescue centre for snakes kept in poor conditions and is committed to breeding snakes in order to reduce collection from the wild. Visitors can also sponsor individual animals. One of the aims is to reduce people's fear of contact with snakes.
