The hike to the Schnebelhorn, the highest mountain peak in the canton of Zurich, starts in the Tösstal, for example from Steg, where parking spaces and a train connection are available. The ascent covers around 600 metres of elevation gain, from about 700 m above sea level to 1300 m above sea level. The trail is varied with steep sections, leading through forests, across meadows and along rock faces. Along the way there are spectacular viewpoints and benches for a rest. The route is marked as a mountain hiking trail (white-red-white) and requires sturdy footwear.
