At the Sechseläuten, Zurich's guilds march through the city in a parade and enter Sechseläutenplatz. The highlight of the festival is the burning of the Böögg, a snowman figure that is set alight on a pyre. The time it takes for the head to explode is traditionally regarded as a forecast for the coming summer. Each year a guest canton is invited, in this case the canton of Schwyz. At the edition shown here, it took 57 minutes for the head to explode, which is described as a new record.
