Winter sports against the backdrop of the Aletsch Glacier
The Aletsch Arena is one of the most impressive ski areas in Switzerland. On the car-free sun terraces of Riederalp, Bettmeralp and Fiescheralp, winter sports enthusiasts will find over 100 kilometres of perfectly groomed slopes with views of the Great Aletsch Glacier, the longest glacier in the Alps. The area offers varied descents for beginners, families and experienced skiers.
Thanks to the altitude of between around 1,800 and 2,900 metres, the snow conditions are considered particularly reliable. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, winter hiking trails, sledging runs and viewpoints offer spectacular panoramas of the Valais four-thousand-metre peaks and the UNESCO World Heritage Site Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch.
