During the trial flight, flight instructor Andy first explains how a helicopter works and the pre-flight check. Afterwards, you take over the controls yourself, such as the cyclic, the collective and the pedals, in order to control direction, climbing, descending and rotation. Hovering is considered particularly demanding and requires a great deal of coordination. At the end of the flight, the instructor demonstrates how an autorotation is carried out in an emergency should the engine fail.
