In the middle of Adliswil lies one of Switzerland's most unusual animal attractions: the Tierlidach. On the green roof of a commercial building, a lovingly designed habitat for various small animals has been created. Visitors can observe rabbits, chickens, bees and rare Skudde sheep at close range while learning more about species-appropriate animal husbandry. The project combines nature, animal welfare and encounter in an innovative way and is considered Switzerland's first animal roof.
Particularly interesting is the fact that some of the animals belong to endangered or rare breeds. The Skudde sheep, for example, are among the oldest domestic sheep breeds in Europe and are on the Red List of endangered livestock breeds. For families with children, the Tierlidach offers a great opportunity to experience animals up close without having to visit a large zoo.
