Free visit to the animal park
The Tierpark Weihermätteli in Liestal is a nature-oriented, freely accessible park with around 200 animals from about 20 mainly native species. Along the walking paths, visitors can observe animals such as ponies, goats, sheep, llamas or waterfowl and enjoy the quiet park grounds at the edge of the forest.
Additional offerings such as pony rides or play areas make the park particularly attractive for families.
The combination of a free-to-access local recreation area, animal watching and a relaxed natural atmosphere makes the animal park a popular excursion destination in the Basel region.
