The hike through the Verenaschlucht takes about 20 minutes and passes one of the largest caves in the gorge as well as a mysterious passageway. The path crosses a moss-covered bridge and leads past a waterfall with a large erratic boulder on an island. At the end of the gorge lies the hermitage with the chapel, set into the middle of a rock face and offering a wide view. According to legend, placing a finger into a hole next to the chapel frees you from illness.
