The clock tower houses one of the oldest working clocks in Switzerland. Around 800 to 900 grams of real gold leaf were used for the decorations. Guided tours allow visitors to see the interior with its complex mechanism, including a climb to the top with a view of the Federal Palace (Bundeshaus). On the hour, the mechanical figure play with the rooster and the jester starts moving, its speed regulated by propeller-like air brakes.
